How to make one
- 1
Find your review link
On Google Business Profile, open your business and choose 'Ask for reviews'. Google gives you a short g.page link.
- 2
Paste it in
Choose the URL type and paste the link. Pick Track Scans so you can see how many people actually used it.
- 3
Design and download
Colours and frames are free. Download PNG for anything on screen; SVG, for a printer, comes with Pro or your trial.
- 4
Put it where the moment is
Receipts, the counter, the back of the bill folder. Ask while the visit is still fresh.
Why it works
- Removes the hardest step — nobody has to search for your business
- Works from any phone camera, no app to install
- Track scans to see which table tent or receipt actually works
- Change where it points later without reprinting a single card
- Free to create; 5 tracked codes on the free plan
Why reviews stall, and what a QR code changes
Most customers who would happily leave a review never do — not because they are unwilling, but because the path is long. They have to remember your exact business name, search it, scroll past similar listings, find the review button, and only then write something. Every one of those steps loses people.
A QR code collapses that to a single tap at the moment they are most positive: just after paying, while they are still at the table. That timing matters more than the design of the code.
Where to put it
In practice the printed receipt outperforms almost everything else, because the customer is already holding it and already looking down. A table tent works in restaurants where people linger. A sticker by the door is the weakest placement — people are leaving, not lingering.
If you are unsure, make two tracked codes with different destinations or just different placements, and compare the scan counts after a fortnight. That is a real answer for your business rather than general advice.
One thing worth saying plainly
A QR code raises the number of reviews you get; it does not change what they say. If service is inconsistent, making feedback easier surfaces that faster. That is useful information, but it is worth expecting.
