Sharing WiFi passwords has always been a hassle, especially with complex passwords that include special characters and mixed cases. A WiFi QR code solves this problem elegantly by encoding your network credentials into a simple scannable code.
WiFi QR codes use a standardized format (WIFI:T:WPA;S:NetworkName;P:Password;;) that is recognized by all modern smartphones. When a user scans the code, their device reads the SSID, password, and encryption type, then automatically configures and connects to the network. The entire process takes less than 3 seconds.
Indian businesses including restaurants, hotels, cafes, co-working spaces, hospitals, and retail stores are increasingly adopting WiFi QR codes to provide a seamless customer experience. Instead of printing passwords on table cards that need constant updating, a single QR code sticker provides instant connectivity.
Our WiFi QR code generator supports all major encryption protocols:
If your WiFi network is hidden (SSID not broadcasted), you can toggle the "Hidden Network" option when generating the QR code. This ensures that devices scanning the code can still find and connect to your network even though it doesn't appear in the regular WiFi scan list.

A WiFi QR code encodes your wireless network name (SSID), password, and encryption type into a scannable code. When someone scans it with their phone camera, they instantly connect to your WiFi without manually typing the password.
Enter your WiFi network name (SSID), password, and select the encryption type (WPA/WPA2, WEP, or None). Click generate and download the QR code. Print it and place it where guests can easily scan it.
Yes. WiFi QR codes are free and unlimited, including PNG downloads, custom colours and 29 of our 32 frames, and you do not need an account — only three premium frame styles are Pro. Pro adds your logo on the code and SVG downloads for a print shop.
It is exactly as safe as writing the password on the wall — no more, no less. A QR code is a shortcut for typing, not encryption: the password is stored in the code as plain text, so anyone who scans it can recover it. That is fine for a guest network and the reason you should use one, rather than the network your card terminal and back-office computer sit on. Most routers can broadcast a separate guest network in a few minutes, and it is the single most useful thing to do before printing anything.
You need a new code. WiFi codes are static by nature — the network name and password live inside the pattern, and the phone reads them directly instead of visiting a link, so a dynamic code cannot help here. If you rotate the password regularly, print on cheap cards rather than laminating, and keep the design file.
All modern smartphones support WiFi QR codes. iPhones (iOS 11+) and Android phones (Android 10+) can scan WiFi QR codes directly using the built-in camera app. Older devices may need a QR scanner app.
